**Percussion, Drum & Voice: Exploring African & Worldbeat

The participants will explore drumming and voice exercises which will lead to a group playing at the end.   He believes that “nothing is sweeter than the human voice.”  At this workshop, participants will create rhythms with voices. 

Kellman “Kongo” Charles, born in Trinidad, grew up in a family of artist and musicians.  He has been a drummer and drum maker for many years.  He performed in Brooklyn Music Drum Festival in 2005 and Hilo’s annual Drum & Percussion Festival in 2006.
